GSM/GPRS makes telematics affordable in India
Telematics
Telematics is not a new thing. It existed since the introduction of networks, and the mobile networks made it truly effective. The demand for remote monitoring of the assets, factory, equipments & other operational processes was always felt. But the growth of internet enabled remote monitoring was slow due to the cost of internet connectivity.
Adoption in India
Today, India being the huge subscriber base for mobile networks, is enjoying the affordability of ?Internet of Things?.
India is expected to have close to 165 million mobile internet users by March 2015 (rpt) 2015, up from 87.1 million in December 2012 as more people are accessing the web through mobile devices and dongles, a report by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and IMRB says.
Telematics has proven to be effective to gain better control over your operations, be it Transportation, Healthcare, Hospitality, Manufacturing, CRM, Process control or banking. Almost everywhere the need for remote monitoring is felt. In near future, we expect ?Internet of Things? (IoT) to play a major role in shaping the businesses to be well managed and effective.
